Kano Fire Service receives 73 distressed calls in January

Kano, Jan. 25, 2017 (NAN) The Kano State Fire Service has said that it  received 73 distressed calls from Jan. 1 till date.

The Director of the service, Alhaji Mustapha Rilwan, made the disclosure in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano on Wednesday.

Rilwan said that the rescue calls, include road accidents, fire disasters, among others.

He advised people to stop sitting on vehicles loaded with goods to avoid unforeseen dangers.

The said that a 30-year-old man, Abdullahi Abdulazeez, sitting on articulate vehicle loaded with blocks narrowly escaped death at flyover at Kofar, Nasarawa in Kano.

He said the service received a call that Abdullahi hit his head at a cross bar of the bridge from a good Samaritan and they quickly dispatched their vehicles to the scene.

Rilwan said that the victim was conveyed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital. (NAN)
