Lagos, Jan 18, 2017 (NAN) A veteran actor, Yomi Fash-Lanso has urged Nigerians to invest more in the nation’s existing tourist sites to further boost its revenue base.

The thespian through his social media timeline, said that he would rather spend his vacation in appealing sites like, Obudu cattle ranch, Olumo rock, Erin Ijesa than wasting it in another country.

He added that it was not wise to spend so much money in other people’s country, when one could pump such money in one’s country to encourage growth and development.

“My favourite spot is Nigeria. I love Erin Ijesa, Oke Idanre, Obudu Cattle ranch and Olumo rock in Abeokuta.

“Why should I go on vacation abroad? It doesn’t make sense to me when we have fascinating places here.

“Why should I spend so much money in other countries? If I can pump in N200, 000 into Erin Ijesa community, do you know how much it would help the economy?

“Other Nigerians should think like me.

“People steal money from Nigeria and pump it overseas to boost their economies. But if I spend money in Nigeria, there won’t be massive joblessness, “he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that it has become a trend among Nigerian celebrities to travel abroad for their vacation and visit tourist sites at the expense of those in Nigeria.

NAN reports that Fash-Lanso acts mostly in Yoruba language films and has more than 100 films to his credit.

In 2014, he was nominated for Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting role at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards for his role in “Omo Elemosho“.

The same year, he got the award for best actor in a supporting role for his role in “Omo Elemosho“, from NEA awards which held in the US. (NAN)
