Bauchi, Jan. 13, 2017 (NAN) The Bauchi State Drugs and Medical Consumable Management Agency, has recorded N100 million turnover on its 2016 Drugs Revolving Funds scheme as against N58 million profit in 2015.

The chairman of the agency, Mr Abdulkadir Ahmed, made this disclosure on Friday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi.

Ahmed said that the Drugs Revolving Funds (DRF) achieved the feat due to effective supply of goods directly  from pharmaceutical companies.

He said that all the 20 General Hospitals in the state were enrolled on the DRF platform.

“We purchased the drugs directly from the pharmaceutical companies and sold with little profits.

“Apart from the profit recorded, we made some renovations from the small revenue generated from laboratories, and other health facilities.

“We purchased generators, fumigated stores and also established quarantine to keep drugs safe,” he said.

Ahmed said that the agency was, however, facing the challenges of logistics and manpower for effective monitoring of  the various facilities. (NAN)
