Lagos, Jan. 12, 2017 (NAN) The Lagos State Police Command on Thursday said it had arrested one Mike Eze-Nwalie Nwogu, also known as ‘Pretty Mike’, for allegedly putting chains on the necks of  young girls like puppies.

The police arrested  Nwogu on Wednesday  on the orders of the Lagos State Government following the viral pictures of young girls in chain being  circulated in the social media.

The state Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, said the government would  not tolerate any anti-social behaviour tantamount to dehumanising  any citizen in the state.

Kazeem reiterated the government’s determination to prosecute any individual or group of persons who violated any law of the state.

“The Lagos State Government is committed to the protection of the rights of all citizens including children, women and all the vulnerable persons in the State,” Kazeem said.

The Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, said  that the case has been taken over by the state government.

“The suspect had been invited by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence team.

“He had also met the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice. We will also look at the criminal angle of the story,” Owoseni said.

Nwogu is now helping the police in their  investigation  after writing an undertaking to desist from putting any woman or man on leash.(NAN)
