Man, 25 , docked for alleged theft of phone worth N35,000

Lagos, Jan. 11, 2017 (NAN) A suspect, Lekan Adetunji,25, was on Wednesday arraigned in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing a phone valued at N35, 000.
The accused, who lives at Mushin Area of Lagos, is facing a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy .
The prosecutor Eruada Victor told the court that the accused and others at large committed the offences on Dec. 22, at Mangoro Area of Agege, Lagos.

According to the prosecutor, the accused and others still at large, conspired to snatch a phone valued at N35,000 from one Sunday Igbongi .
“The suspect tried to escape, but a passerby was able to hold the accused with the phone,” he said.

“Victor said that the case was reported at the police station, and this led to the arrest of the accused.

The offences contravened Sections 285 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N30, 000, with two sureties in like sum.

However, the Magistrate, Mrs G. O. Anifowoshe, adjourned the case till Jan. 16, for mention. (NAN)
