Johannesburg, Jan. 6, 2017 (dpa/NAN) A Bangladeshi UN peacekeeper has been killed in the Central African Republic, the UN mission to the country, said in a statement that was issued on Friday.
Peacekeepers on patrol were attacked by about 50 assailants in Bokayai near Bocaranga in the country’s north-west, according to the statement late Thursday.
“One peacekeeper from Bangladesh was fatally shot.
The peacekeepers responded to the attack,” the statement added.
The UN mission had earlier announced the deaths of two Moroccan peacekeepers when their convoy was attacked in the South-East on Tuesday.
