Kano, Dec. 30, 2016 (NAN) The Kano State Government on Friday directed civil servants in the state to always comply with the monthly cleaning of public offices on the last Friday of every month.
The state’s Head of Service, Alhaji Auwal Na’iya, gave the directive on Friday when he received the Commissioner for Environment, Dr Ali Makoda , who monitored the exercise at the State Secretariat.
He said that although many of the ministries and parastatal agencies were already imbibing the culture of cleanliness, it had become necessary to put in more effort.
“Islam as a religion has made it compulsory for Muslims to be hygienic and all believers must comply,’’ he said.
He commended the efforts of Makoda for diligently monitoring the exercise.
Makoda, in his remarks, expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance of civil servants with the monthly sanitation in work places.
NAN reports that the state government had introduced a monthly sanitation exercise for work places, motor parks and markets on the last Friday of each month. (NAN)
