Bisi Adeyemi, former Registrar Fed. Poly Bida, emerges new ODA President

Omu-Aran (Kwara), Dec. 29, 2016 (NAN) Chief Bisi Adeyemi, the immediate past Registrar, Federal Polytechnic, Bida has been elected as the new President of Omu-Aran Development Association (ODA), the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports.

Adeyemi was elected unopposed during the association’s annual congress held at Omu-Aran City Complex.

Adeyemi, who is also the Akeweje of Omu-Aran took over the association’s mantle of leadership from Chief Peter Oyinloye, who led the association for six years.

The new ODA president in his acceptance speech called for the support of the people and other stakeholders toward ensuring the desired socio-economic development for the community.

He decried the continued closure of some commercial banks’ branches in the town since 2013, saying the development was negatively impacting on the economy of the community.

Adeyemi said that the association under his tutelage would channel available resources and partner with relevant stakeholders in ensuring the reopening of the closed bank branches for the overall benefit of the people.

He thanked the members of the town’s traditional council headed by the Olomu of Omu-Aran, Oba Charles Ibitoye for their foresight, dedication and steadfastness in running the affairs of the community.

Adeyemi urged youths to remain committed and shun acts capable of derailing the peaceful coexistence the community was known for.

Oba Ibitoye, in a goodwill message, charged the new executive to live above aboard in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He pledged the support of the traditional institution toward the development of the community.

Other members of the executive are Alhaji Rasak Olawuyi, Vice-President 1, Alhaji Salahudeen Abdulganeey, Vice-Presiudent 2, Olatunji Ajiboye, Secretary, Alhaji Azeez Olawuyi, Treasurer and Dr Suleiman Popoola, Auditor.

Others are Comrade Jide Oyinloye, Assistant Secretary, Adekeye Peter, PRO, Joseph Oyinloye, Social Secretary, Prince Adeyemi Babatunde, Assistant Financial Secretary and Mrs Sidikat Adesiyan, Financial Secretary. (NAN)
