Minna, Dec. 25, ‎2016 (NAN) Pastor Dare Akintunde of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Niger Province 1, on Sunday urged Christians worldwide to emulate Christ’s humility.

Akintunde made the call in his Christmas sermon at Jesus House Parish in Minna, Niger, with the theme “The Significance of Jesus Christ”.

He said that many were given birth to in expensive international hospitals but Jesus was born in a manger, taking his text from the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 2: 1 – 27.
‎

Akintunde said that Christians should emulate Christ modesty by reflecting on the nature of his place of birth.‎

He said that God designed his birth that way for humanity to learn some moral lessons of humility, modesty and simplicity.

Rather, many have not bothered to reflect on this humble birth, he said.

“In this period of recession, if the people will begin to adjust to ‎reality and drop their   synthetic lifestyles, the country’s economy will soon reflate for good,” the pastor said.
‎
Akintunde also said that Christmas was not all about wining and dining or about cladding oneself in good clothing but always reflecting on why Christ came to the world. (NAN)
