Abuja, Dec. 22, 2016 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions over the central states of the country on Friday with horizontal visibility of three to five kilometres.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Thursday.
It explained that the region would have day and night temperature of 28 to 36 degrees Celsius and 12 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience mist and fog conditions over Lagos, Port Harcourt, Benin and Warri during the early morning hours.
It also predicted cloudy to partly cloudy conditions over the region during the afternoon and evening hours with day and night temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius and 22 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, northern states will be under the influence of dust haze conditions and horizontal visibility of three to five kilometres especially over Yelwa, Gusau, Sokoto, Kano, Katsina, Nguru and Maiduguri.
“The region will have improved horizontal visibilities over the North-East with day and night temperatures of 33 to 36 degrees Celsius and 10 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.
“Dust haze condition is expected over the northern and central parts of the country. Sunny and hazy conditions are anticipated over the southern parts of the country in the next 24 hours,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
