Yola, Dec. 21, 2016 ( NAN) The Adamawa Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has prosecuted 22 offenders of various road traffic violation in Yola.
The State Sector Commander, Mr Adegoke Adetunji, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Yola on Wednesday.
Adetunji said that the offenders were arrested by the command and convicted by a special mobile court on road traffic violation.
“ The command’s mobile court has convicted 22 road traffic violators in Yola.
“Among them were 14 fake driving license holders; some were convicted for overloading and refusal to fasten their seat belt,’’ Adetunji said.
The sector commander also said that no fewer than 500 personnel from the command and 300 Special Marshals were deployed on the major roads and highways for the Yuletide.
He said that the command had organised various special sensitisation programmes aimed at educating the public on the importance of safe driving. ( NAN)ANA/DEB
