Medical expert tasks colleagues on effective service delivery

Kano, Dec. 17, 2016 (NAN) Prof. Ibrahim Adamu-Yakasai, Dean, Clinical Health, College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, has charged medical practitioners to continue to discharge their duties with utmost care and fear of God.

He made the remark on Saturday in Kano after he was honoured by the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Kano state Chapter.

He said as medical practitioners, they have a responsibility to ensure that they are effective in the discharge of their duties in view of the fact that they are dealing with human lives.

“I am really short of words to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation for the honour done to me today,” he said.

He assured the association of his continuous support towards the development of the health sector in the state and the country at large.

In his remarks, the association’s Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Sa’ad, said the awardee was honoured in recognition of his contribution to the development of the health sector.

Also speaking, the former governor of the state, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, described the awardee as a hard working person who ensured that more than 1,000 doctors attended various trainings when he was the Director General of the state health management board.

Shekarau said the awardee would continue to be remembered for his immense contribution to the development of the health sector in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that other people that received awards included the the state Head of Service, Alhaji Muhammad Na’iya, Pro. Musa Borodo and the state commissioner of health, Dr Kabiru Getso. (NAN).
