Dust haze atmosphere, cloudy skies to prevail on Friday – NiMet

Abuja, Dec. 16, 2016 (NAN) The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has predicted dust haze weather conditions over the central states of the country on Friday with sunny and hazy conditions over Lokoja, Makurdi and Ilorin.
NiMet made the prediction in the Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office in Abuja on Friday.
It added that the region would have day and night temperature of 31 to 36 degrees Celsius and 14 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively, except over Jos with 29 and 12 degrees Celsius.
The agency predicted that the Southern states would experience partly cloudy and sunny conditions over the inland cities with day and night temperatures of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius and 22 to 25 degrees Celsius respectively.
It also predicted prospects of early morning mist and fog patches over the coastal cities with chances of isolated rains over Calabar, Eket, Port-Harcourt and Yenegoa axis in the afternoon and evening hours.
According to NiMet, northern states will experience moderate dust haze with visibility values of less than or equal to 2000m throughout the forecast period.
“The region will also have day and night temperatures of 32 to 36 degrees Celsius and 12 to 20 degrees Celsius respectively during the forecast period.
“Dust haze conditions are expected to prevail over the northern and central cities of the country,” NiMet predicted. (NAN)
