South African group rewards Nigerian ICT expert

Port Harcourt, Dec. 16, 2016 (NAN) Mr Fidelis Igbokwe, a Nigerian Information and Communication Technology expert, has been awarded a certificate of appreciation by a South Africa-based group for developing a new application.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Igbokwe developed a travel and tourism application with safety and security features known as TRPPN.

Reacting to the award, Igbokwe told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on telephone from Johannesburg, South Africa, on Friday that  the group, Chatsworth Child Welfare, based in Kwazulu Natal Province of that country, gave him credit for the application.

Igbokwe said that the certificate of appreciation given to TRPPN was for its positive impact and contribution to humanity on inception.

“ We feel honoured that less than a month after the inauguration of the application, we have been honoured.

“ We were not expecting any award and we are just a few weeks into the market,” he said.

Igbokwe, the Chief Executive and founder of TRPPNS Application, said that the device would assist African countries boost their tourism sector.

“ TRPPNS is connected to over 1,600 car hire operators in 190 countries globally.

“ The application will be used to expose African tourism and create jobs for the people,” he said.

He also said that Nigeria could use the application to develop numerous tourist sites, create jobs and earn revenue.

According to Igbokwe, Nigerians can also use the free panic button feature of  TRPPN  to  get  help  in an emergency situation. (NAN)
