2 Security guards arraigned for alleged burglary, stealing

Lagos, Dec. 16, 2016 (NAN) Two security men were on Friday arraigned before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for alleged burglary and stealing of mobile phones valued at N490,300.

The accused are Idris Lukman, 25, who resides at 10 Abiba St., Iyana Ipaja, and Onyebuchi Akabuogu, 33, living at 73 Ishola Martins St., Abule Egba, suburbs of Lagos.

They are being tried for conspiracy, stealing and burglary.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Samuel Ishola, told the court that the offences were committed on Nov. 7 at 9, Iju Road, Agege, a suburb of Lagos.

Ishola said that the accused were both on duty when the company was burgled.

“Different types of mobile phones valued at N490,300, property of Spectrum Innovation Technologies were stolen.”

The offences contravened Sections 285, 307, 408 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Miss A. R. Onilogbo granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case to Jan. 18 for mention. (NAN)
