(Kafin-Madaki) Bauchi, Dec. 15, 2016 (NAN) About 40 rural women from Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State are to benefit from Federal Government’s Economic Empowerment Programme.
Mrs Hauwa Alkasim, wife of the Caretaker Chairman of the local government council, gave this indication on Thursday in Kafin-Madaki while distributing 40 forms to leaders of various women groups in the area
She said the programme was aimed at empowering rural and therefore urged beneficiaries to make the best use of the opportunities provided to enhance their economic status.
She called on women in the state avail themselves of facilities all economic empowerment programmes being implemented by either the state or Federal Government.
Alkasim also distributed some forms to women entrepreneurs under the Bauchi Sustainability Economic and Empowerment Programme (B-SWEEP) initiative of Mrs Hadiza Mohammed, wife of Bauchi State Governor.
“We have acquired about 40 forms from both the Government Economic Empowerment Programme (GEEP) and that of the B-SWEEP under the Non-Governmental Organization of the state First Lady, Hajiya Hadiza Mohammed.
“Women should avail themselves of these opportunities; the Federal Government women empowerment programme enables the accessing of loan from N10,0000 to N100,000 while the B-SWEEP provides skills to enable women become self-reliant,’’ she said
Speaking on behalf of the women, the Local Government Women Development Officer, Mrs Hussaina Dabo, thanked the initaitors of the programmes for touching the lives of rural women in the state.(NAN)
