Gov. Godwin Obaseki made the announcement when he led members of the state’s executive council on an inspection tour of the school.
Obaseki said that the review became necessary so that students would be exposed to issues in modern health technology.
He said the government was determined to providing conducive environment for learning in the institution.
“We will review your school curriculum so that it will be in tune with what is attainable in modern health technology training and practices.
“We will make sure that the hostels are improved while something will be done about the clinic next week.
“We will get the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Council to build a health centre in the school. We will also look into the issue of school fees you complained about,’’ he stated.
The governor directed the principal of the school to report to the government house on Dec. 13 for a meeting.
The Vice-Principal of the school, Mrs Tracy Omorogieva, conducted the governor round the institution, which has a population of 250 students.
The governor also visited the State School of Nursing and Midwifery, Benin, where he inspected facilities and directed the authorities to put up a comprehensive report on the challenges facing the school.
He stressed that the school was critical to his administration’s health reforms, noting that there was urgent need to address the non-accreditation problem of the institution.
“We need to sit down and discuss the problems of the school so we can quickly get it re-opened,’’ the governor said.
An Assistant Director of Nursing in the school, Mrs Alex Enunwaonye, told the governor that the school was not in session because its accreditation had been withdrawn. (NAN)
