Lagos, Dec. 8, 2016 (NAN) A 20-year-old saleswoman, Okonkwo Mary, on Thursday appeared before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing N285, 000 from her employer.
The accused, who resides at No. 7 Eniola Adesanya St., Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi, told the court that the accused committed the offence at Suite 33A, Alausa Shopping Mall, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos, on Nov. 28.
Egunjobi said the accused stole clothes worth N285,000 from the shop of her employer, one Mrs Nihinoluwa Ashiru.
“The complainant said she noticed that her sales girl was unable to give a proper account of N285,000 worth of clothes she had sold.

Egunjobi alleged that the accused stole the money and converted it to her own personal use.
The offence contravened Section 285 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.O Osinbajo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and adjourned the case till Dec.15 for mention. (NAN)
