Dutse, Dec. 5, 2016 (NAN) The Emir of Dutse, Jigawa, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad, has advised female Corps members to desist from indecent dressing to avoid embarrassment.

Muhammad gave the advice in Dutse on Monday when the NYSC Coordinator in the state, Mr Michael Omulo, led some corps members selected from the six geopolitical zones on a courtesy visit to the Emir.

“Your mode of dressing determines how people will respect you. So, dress well to avoid harassment and embarrassment,” he cautioned.

The royal father also counseled the corps members to be good ambassadors of their respective states of origin by behaving well while in the camp and in the host communities.

The Emir, however, assured the corps members that the Emirate would treat them as its own children, irrespective of their religion, tribe or region.

“I want to assure you that as long as you are in Jigawa, you are our subjects and we will treat you as our own children.

“But you have to behave well in every community you may find yourself to serve,” he added.

Muhammad also urged them to avoid doing anything that was against the culture and tradition of people in the state in order to avoid creating problem with their host communities.

The monarch, therefore, urged the corps members to educate members of their host communities on basic things that would assist them in improving their living standard.

“You do not need money before you can assist others or to execute projects that are only viable while you are serving.

“So, teach members of your host communities and educate them on basic things that will improve their lives so that you will leave a legacy,” Muhammad advised.

Mr Ijasan Michael, who spoke on behalf of the corps members, commended the emir for accepting to host them at his palace and the hospitality accorded them.

Earlier, the NYSC Coordinator told the Emir that they were at his place to seek for his blessing.

“We are here for you to bless your children (corps members) for their stay in the camp and in your emirate.

“This is because they are our tomorrow’s leaders and they need your blessing.

“We carefully selected them from the six geo-political zones to represent all the Batch “B” stream,” Omolu said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the coordinator presented the Emir with a gift of one bundle of kolanut. (NAN)
