Lagos, Nov. 22, 2016 (NAN) Fast-rising Yoruba actress, Adekemi Taofeek, on Tuesday stressed that if an actor does not strive to become a producer in the movie industry, he or she will never gain the required respect and reward.
Taofeek took to the social media platform, monitored by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), and said that the new trend in the industry was to become a producer, so as to be able to achieve some respect.
“If you don’t produce, you will never gain good respect from movie producers.
“Secondly, it is a good way to showcase your talent because you are able to give yourself the role you desire, which you may not be able to get from any other producer.
“In most cases, as an upcoming actor, you do not get more than five scenes from other producers. And there are the financial matters too,’’ she said.
Taofeek, who just released her latest movie titled Babymama, said being a producer was a great way of doing a role you love to do, because other producers may not give you the roles you desire.
She also noted that every Yoruba actor was a producer, including the English movie sector as well, which has also followed the trend.
NAN reports that Babymama, being the second movie produced by the enterprising actress, after her first which was Tibi Tire.
She is set to do her third titled, ‘Aaye Mi. (NAN)
