Abuja, Aug.29, 2018(NAN)The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that it should not be blamed for the inability of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Rabiu Kwankwaso to secure the Eagles Square for his declaration.
Mr Yekini Nabena, the party’s National Publicity Secretary offered the refutal  in Abuja, after some politicians heaped the blame for the shut out on the APC.
“We frown at mischievous attempts in some quarters to blame the APC for the inability of a PDP presidential aspirant to secure the Eagles Square for his declaration.
“The party read in the media reasons given by the facility managers of the Abuja International Conference Centre and Eagles Square not to allow campaigns in its facility on Wednesday to avoid disruption of work flow at the federal secretariat, the main hub of civil servants in Abuja.
“Hence the allegation is unnecessary and misplaced, we should not be dragged into a private transaction involving entities we have no business with,”the APC spokesman maintained.
He added that the APC would however, not win the 2019 general elections by cheap campaign ground antics but on the actual votes from Nigerian electorate who were wise and know who was working in their interest.
Nabena added that never again would the governance of the country be returned to the hands of those that “selfishly held us back for years”.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kwankwaso was a two term Governor of Kano state from 1999–2003 and 2011–2015.
He was the first governor of the state in the fourth republic elected on the platform of the PDP.
He lost re-election bid in 2003 to Ibrahim Shekarau and was in July same year appointed Defence Minister by the then President Olusegun Obasanjo.(NAN)
