Jos, Aug. 27, 2018(NAN) A Christian club, Virtue Blazers, has organised a three-day workshop on entrepreneurial skills for 1,000 women in Plateau, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports.
NAN reports that the workshop also focused on promoting professional excellence among women to make them more competitive in service delivery.
Mr Tobi Salawu, the Northern Regional Coordinator of the club, who spoke with newsmen on Monday in Jos, at a ceremony to round off the workshop, said that its goal was to make women outstanding in their offices.
“ We organised the workshop to encourage and challenge the participants on professional excellence and entrepreneurial skills. We want to empower them economically and make them outstanding in the discharge of their duties.
“The entrepreneurial skills will encourage them to have multiple source of income to meet their personal and family needs because white collar jobs are scare or may not satisfy their needs,” he said
He said that the club had so far trained 15,000 participants since it commenced its seminars, workshops and camp training in 2005, adding that outreaches had also been organised to educate students on the dangers of social vices.
Among resource persons at the workshop were Mrs. Sarah Ochekpe, former Minister for Water Resources, as well as Mrs. Leah Onigbinde, General Manager, Onigbinde Stores. (NAN)
