Eid-el-Kabir: FRSC deploys 555 personnel, 20 operational vehicles in Niger

Minna, Aug. 16, 2018 (NAN) The Niger sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has deployed 555 personnel to ensure free and safe traffic during the eid-el-kabir festivities holding Aug. 21 and 22, according to its commander, Yusuf Garba.

Garba told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Minna that those on duty would comprise 157 officers and 398 Marshals.

He said that 20 operational vehicles, four ambulances and two tow trucks would be in service during the period.

According to him, there will be special patrol operations aimed at checking speeding, overloading, wrong overtaking, quality of tyres and the use of cell phones while on the wheels.

The commander said that special attention would be paid to federal highways like Minna-Suleja, Bida-Minna, Minna-Kontagora, Jebba-Mokwa-Tegina and Suleja-Kaduna.

“Our rescue operations team will be on standby throughout the period,” he said.

Garba appealed to drivers and other road users to obey traffic rules and regulations and warned parents against giving vehicles to children. (NAN)
