Ikeja, Aug. 15, 2018 (NAN) A 19-year-old boy, Lekan Ahmed, was jailed on Wednesday for one month by an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court, for breaking into a primary school and stealing iron and aluminium zinc.
The Magistrate, Mr W.A. Salami, however, gave the boy an option of carrying out a two-month community service, or payment of N20,000 fine.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the convict had pleaded guilty to the two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy.
The prosecutor, Insp. Abiola Adewale, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on July 29 at Temidire Primary School, Oke-Odo, Agege, Lagos.
Adewale said that the convict illegally and criminally entered the school and carted away the items, the value of which was yet to be determined.
The offence contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). (NAN)
