Lagos, Nov. 17, 2016 (NAN) For allegedly cutting her neighbour with a razor blade on her chest and head, a 23-year-old woman, Queen Oku, was on Thursday arraigned at an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, a social worker, who resides at 24, Kadiri St., Alausa, Ikeja, is being tried for assault.

The prosecutor, Insp. Clement Okuoimose, told the court that the offence was committed on Nov. 11 at the residence of the accused.

Okuoimose said that a fight ensued between the accused and her neighbour, one Miss Patricia Kenneth, over a missing N60, 000.

“The accused slapped Patricia so hard that she became dizzy, and while she was dizzy, the accused used a razor blade and cut her head, chest and hand.

“The complainant lost so much blood and she became unconscious; if not for the intervention of a co-tenant, Patricia would have died,” he said.

He said that the offence contravened Section 244 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Magistrate, Mrs S. Y. Okusanya, granted bail to the accused in the sum of M150, 000, with two sureties in like sum.

Okusanya adjourned the case to Jan. 11, 2017 for hearing. (NAN)
