Bauchi, Aug.6,2018 (NAN) Secretary of the recently constituted Election Petition Tribunal for Bauchi South Senatorial by-election, Mrs Aisha Mana, on Monday called on parties with complaint to lodge same with the tribunal after the conduct of the election, slated for Aug.11.
In a statement she issued, which copy was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi, the secretary said the President of the Court of Appeal, Abuja, Hon. Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, had constituted the tribunal,persuant to powers vested on her by the Electoral Act.
She said they would be on ground to receive all petitions after the election on behalf of the tribunal, and therefore called for maximum cooperation to ensure a hitch-free exercise.
NAN reports that the Bauchi South Senatorial seat became vacant sequel to the death of Sen.Ali Wakili on March 17.
Nine candidates, amongst them, immediate past governor of the state, Isa Yuguda, have been cleared to contest the by-election, coming up on Saturday, Aug. 11.
The seven LocalGovernment Area that constitute the Senatorial zone are Bauchi,Dass, Tafawa Balewa, Alkaleri,Kirfi, Bogoro and Toro. (NAN)
