Lawmaker urges constituents to acquire PVC before deadline

Minna, Aug. 1, 2018 (NAN) Alhaji Umar Bago, the members representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency on Wednesday urged eligible voters in his constituency to obtain their voter card before the August 17 deadline announced by INEC.
Bago said in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna after a house-to-house sensitisation campaign at Limawa and Unguwar Daji Old airport road in Minna that the voter card is the only weapon with which to elect responsible leaders in 2019.
“We are also reaching out to those who have registered but unable to collect their permanent voter cards to do so immediately to enable them elect credible leaders that will ensure good democratic governance”, he said.
He appealed to media organisations to support the ongoing Continuous Voters’ Registration in the state through public enlightenment, to mobilise more residents to get registered.
“I urge media organisations to deploy all sustainable and effective mass media strategies to mobilise eligible voters to participate actively in the exercise.
” I have also reached out to stakeholders, traditional and religious leaders to ensure massive mobilisation of eligible voters to participate in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration exercise,” Bago said.( NAN)
