Late Coomassie an exemplary Police Icon – Dambazau

Abuja,July 20,2018(NAN) The Minister of Interior, retired Lt.-Gen Abdulrahman Dambazau, has described the late former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomasie, as an exemplary police icon, who dedicated his entire life to the realisation of a safe, secured and prosperous Nigeria.

The minister stated this in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mr Ehisienmen Osaigbovo, on Friday in Abuja.

He commiserated with President Muhammandu Buhari and the government and people of Katsina state.

Dambazau also condoled with the Nigeria Police and the bereaved family, on the sad demise of the Katsina born I-G and former Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum,

Dambazau said he was, however, consoled by the legacies late Ibrahim Coomasie left behind.

He said the nation and the Nigeria Police would continue to derive inspiration and strength from Coomasie’s exemplary legacies and dedication to service.

He said the developmental strides of Coomassie culminated in the conceptualization and construction of a befitting Police headquarters, the Louis Edet House.

The Minister admonished aspiring police leaders to see the virtues of the late ex I-G as moral beacon for excellence.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grants his soul eternal rest and also give the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the great loss.(NAN)
