Benin, July 20, 2018 (NAN) Edo Government has said that its Traffic Control and Management Agency (EDSTMA) will partner Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to ease traffic congestion and road crashes in the state.
Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo gave the assurance when he received new FRSC Sector Commander, Mr Anthony Oko, who paid him a courtesy visit at Government House, Benin, on Friday.
Obaseki stressed the need for both agencies to collaborate in order to ease the traffic gridlocks in the state, adding that the state needed to maintain its transportation hub it was known for.
“I acknowledge the role your agency is playing to ensure reduction of road accidents in the cuntry.
“As a federal agency, you have the equipment and a broad experience that I will want EDSTMA to tap.
“I will ensure that EDSTMA learns from your experience and challenges in order to attain greater heights.”
The governor assured the sector commander and his men that he would help them to rehabilitate the roof of one of their offices affected by rain storm.
Earlier, Oko thanked the governor for his quick response in rehabilitating Lucky Way which had eased traffic in the area.
Oko assured that Obaseki that he and his men would continue to work tirelessly to make the roads safe for users.
He appealed to the governor to extend a hand of fellowship by assisting the FRSC to rehabilitate one of its buildings damaged by rain storm. (NAN)
