Man docked over alleged car theft

Lagos, July 20, 2018 (NAN) An 28-year-old auto-mechanic, Emmanuel Aro, who allegedly stole a Nissan Maxima, was on Friday docked in a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos.

Aro, 28, is being tried on one-count charge of stealing.

He, however, entered a plea of innocence.

The Prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov. 17, 2017 at No. 17, Ibarapa St., Ebute Meta.

She stated that the accused stole a Nissan Maxima saloon car valued at N300, 000 entrusted in his care by the complainant, Alexander Uyinma.

The offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mrs Oluyemisi Adelaja, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100, 000 with one surety in like sum.

Adelaja adjourned the case until Sept. 3, for mention. (NAN)
