Lafia, July 20, 2018 (NAN) Chile Igbawua, Chief Commissioner of Public Complaint Commission (PCC), has appealed to the Federal Government to increase funding to the commission.

The Commissioner made the appealed while addressing staff during his tour of state offices on Friday in Lafia.

According to him, the impression he had when he was appointed was that there are no capable hands in the commission.

“But when I resumed, interacted with staff and visited some state offices, I discover that there are dedicated, experience and qualified staff.

“All our staff need is improve welfare and conducive working environment to enable them discharge their duties in line with our mandate,” he added.

He promised to address the problem of lack of payment of pension arrears of retired staff of the commission within 14 days.

He also assured the staff that the management would address the issue of outstanding promotions and other allowances in order to boost their morale for better service delivery.

He assured them that the management was committed towards completing the work in the permanent office of the commission in Lafia.

Earlier, Philip Iyakwari, the state Commissioner of PCC, said that the commission would work with traditional rulers towards addressing administrative injustice done to workers whether in public or private sector.

He therefore called on members of the public to forward their complaints to any nearest office of the commission for redress and at no cost.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the team also visited the palace of Emir of Lafia, Mustapher Agwai, for royal blessings and as well solicited his support for the commission. (NAN)
