Robbery

Lagos, July 20, 2018 (NAN) A 25-year-old businessman, Abiodun Oseni, is to spend the next 11 days in prison for allegedly robbing a man of his phone valued at N50,000 at gun point.
An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos gave the ruling on Friday.
The magistrate, Mr A. A. Fashola, directed that the case file should be sent to the Lagos State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPPs) for legal advice.
The court adjourned the case until July 30 for mention
The accused, who resides at No. 21, Church St., Agbara, Ogun, is being tried for robbery and conspiracy.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Mike Unah, had told the court that the accused committed the offences with others at large on April 29 at Morogbo Area of Lagos State.
Unah alleged that the accused persons robbed one Mr Babatunde Yusuf of his Tecno C8 phone valued at N50, 000.
“Oseni and his accomplice were armed with a locally- made gun when they robbed the complainant.
The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 299 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised). (NAN)
