Shao (Kwara); July 16, 2018 (NAN) A second republic lawmaker with the Kwara House of Assembly, Chief Wole Oke on Monday charged Nigerian Youth to shun negative tendencies capable of retarding the progress and development of the country
Oke, who is a traditional title holder of Jagunmolu of Shao in Moro local government area of Kwara, gave the charge at a maiden Youth summit organised by Shao Youth Progressive Association
. The former lawmaker reminded the Nigerian Youth of various challenges before them that can assist the country become greater
. He advised them to shun use of illicit drugs, gambling prostitution and other sinful acts inimical to the good image and progress of Nigeria.
Oke urged Youth to always engage in meaningful ventures that can assist the economic growth and development of the country.
The former lawmaker urged the Federal Government to create an enabling environment that will assist the Youth in actualising their potentials in life
. He commended the Shao Youth Progressive Association for organising the summit which he said was aimed at sensitising the Youth on their roles to the society
. In his lecture, a lecturer with Adeleke University Ede, in Osun state Barr. Omotayo lshola called on Nigerian Youths to fully embrace on farming as a way of solving the high rate of unemployment in the country.
“Agriculture in full scale is the only solution to problem of unemployment in Nigeria since the nation is blessed with arable land and favourable weather,” lshola said
. The President of Shao Youth Progressive Association, Mr Kolawole Ajiroba said the maiden Youth summit was aimed at sensitising the Youth of Shao to embark on self -help programmes towards developing Shao town.
Ajiroba noted that no government no matter how benevolent that can cater for the needs of the people alone
