Ningi Emir pledges to boost campaign on WASH

Ningi (Bauchi) July 11, 2018. (NAN) Emir of Ningi in Bauchi state, Alhaji Yunusa Danyaya, on Wednesday pledged to boost the advocacy campaign on portable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) in the state.
‎Danyaya made the pledged when members of Network for Civil Society Organizations (NEWSAN) and WASH Media Network, paid him an advocacy visit  in Ningi.
‎
He said one of the major challenges to in Nigeria and the entire Africa, had to do with poor environmental sanitation related issues.7
‎
“Lack of clean water in the continent is the source of all those communicable diseases such as polio, malaria and cholera, among others.
‎
‎”Already, I am a vanguard of hygiene and national  leader for sanitation and hygiene for six years in this country.
‎
“I want to assure you that we are committed to supporting the WASH campaign and ensuring its success success,” he said.
‎
The Monarch stressed the need for intensified enlightenment campaign and therefore urged the network not to relent in its efforts at sensitizing people on good hygiene practices.
‎
Speaker earlier on behalf of NEWSAN, Alhaji Mudi Marafa, said they are in Ningi  on advocacy visit and therefore solicited the support of the paramount ruler of the town.
‎He explained that the campaign was designed to mobilize citizens to demand for clean water, as well as  improve their sanisanitation and hygiene practices.(NAN)
