Machete

Lagos, July 11, 2018 (NAN) A 35-year-old, Ibrahim Danladi, on Wednesday appeared in an Apapa Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, charged with attacking a man with a machete.
Danladi is facing a charge for assault.
He, however, pleaded guilty to the charge.
The Prosecutor, Police Insp. Benedict Aigbokhau had told the court that the offence was committed on July 8 at 6.00 p.m. at Sunrise Bus Stop, Olodi-Apapa.
According to him, the accused used a machete to launch an attack on the complainant, Alhassan Yahaya and injured him on the head during an argument.
The offence, he noted, contravened Section 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offence carries a three-year jail term.
The Magistrate, Mrs J. Ugbomoiko, remanded the accused in prison following his guilty plea and fixed July 17 for facts and sentence. (NAN)
