1.Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Makurdi, has successfully carried out spinal surgery on five patients, the first of its kind in the Centre.

Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the centre, Dr. Peteru Inunduh, said 20 medical doctors of the centre were undergoing specialist training around the world to enable them to improve their capacity for the tasks ahead.

2.The French President Emmanuel Macron has unveiled the new Alliance Francaise Centre in Ikoyi and conferred on business mogul and the Globacom Chairman, Mike Adenuga, the highest French National Honour of Commander of French Legion.

President Macron, on his second day in Lagos, addressed Nigerian Entrepreneurs in his interactive session with over 1000 Entrepreneurs under the Tony Elumelu Young African Entrepreneur Programme.

Nigeria and France had on Tuesday signed 3 agreements on social amenities and reforestation worth 475m dollars.

3.INEC says it has introduced innovations to further protect the integrity of the electoral processes which cannot be manipulated by anyone, including its own officials.

INEC chairman,Mahmood Yakubuurged the Nigerian electorate to discountenance the unimaginative theory and allegations of scientific rigging, noting that the Permanent Voter Card and reader are set to operate only on Election Day from 8am to 8pm.

4.The governments of Nigeria, Gambia and Sierra Leone have agreed to intensify efforts to include Admiralty Law in university curriculum to address issues in the maritime sector.

Alhaji Hassan Bello, Executive Secretary of Nigeria Shippers Council said a committe had been set up to work out the modalities.

5.Nigerian airline, Air Peace says it will commence four-sector flights on the Lagos-Abuja, Abuja-Owerri, Owerri-Abuja and Abuja-Lagos routes with a historic all-female flight and cabin crew on Thursday.

The airline said the development was in honour of Mrs Sinmisola Ajibola, who made history as the airline’s first female Captain, commitment to gender equality and promotion of Nigerian women in aviation.
