Motorcyclist, 21, pleads guilty to damaging jeep’s side mirror, remanded in prison

Ikeja, June 6, 2018 (NAN) A 21-year-old motorcyclist, Joshua Simeon, was on Wednesday remanded in Kirikiri Prisons, Lagos, after he pleaded guilty
to damaging the side mirror of a car valued at N18,000.

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court which gave the ruling, said the convict should remain behind bars pending sentence.

The accused, whose residential address was not provided, is standing trial on a charge of damage.

According to Sgt. Ishola Samuel, the accused, who rode a motorcycle, had hit a Mazda jeep with registration no. LSR 783 AX belonging to the
complainant, Mr Fidelis Igwe, and damaged the side mirror.

Samuel alleged that Simeon damaged the side mirror of the jeep valued at N18,000.

“Simeon was arrested by the police who met them at the scene.”

The accused committed the offence on May 26 on Capitol Road, Agege, a Lagos suburb, he alleged.

The offence contravened Sections 350 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mrs A.I. Abina, adjourned the case until June 21 for judgment. (NAN)
