Abuja, June 5, 2018 (NAN) A Karmo Grade I Area Court, Abuja, on Tuesday ordered the remand of one Luka Makama, in prison docked for house-breaking and theft.

The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, gave the order after Makama of Angwan Cement, Abuja, pleaded guilty to a two-count charge leveled against him.

Maiwada adjourned the case until June 7 for sentencing.

The prosecutor, Ifeoma Ukagha, told the court that one Mohammed Garba, of Life Camp, Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, on May 25.

Ukagha said the complainant alleged that on the same date, the accused trespassed into his house at about 1:30p.m. when he went to the mosque to pray.

Ukagha said that Makama stole some of the complainant’s property worth N150, 000 and sold it to another man.

He said all effort made by the police to trace and recover the items proved abortive.

The prosecutor said the offences contravened the provisions of Sections 348 and 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
