Court remands man for alleged criminal trespass, mischief

Abuja, June 4, 2018 (NAN) A Karmo Grade I Area Court in Abuja, on Monday, ordered the remand of one Auwalu Abubakar, in Prison for joint act, criminal trespass, mischief and theft.

The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, gave the order after Abubakar of MIB Plaza Gwarimpa, Abuja, pleaded guilty to the three-count charge leveled against him.

Maiwada adjourned the case till June 13, for sentence.

The Prosecutor, Ifeoma Ukagha, told the court that one Alhaji Ali, of Life Camp Abuja, reported the matter at the Life Camp Police Station, on May 24.

Ukahga said the complainant said on that same date, the accused trespassed into the compound through the fence by cutting the fence wire to gain access, but was caught by a security guard.

He said after he was searched, the Mikano generator key of the compound was found with him and during police investigation, it was discovered that Abubakar went to steal iron rod in the compound.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened Sections 79, 348, 327 and 288 of the Penal Code. (NAN)
