Cycling, veritable tool for SDGs attainment – Presidential aide

Abuja, June 2, 2018 (NAN) Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals (SSAP-SDGs), says cycling is a veritable tool for the attainment of the SDGs.
Orelope-Adefulire said this on Saturday in Abuja at a cycling event organised by the Office of the SSAP-SDGs in collaboration with Dapper Exclusive Style limited ahead of the 2018 World Bicycle Day.
The presidential aide, represented by Mrs Ijeoma Ukejiofo, a Deputy Director in the Office of the SSAP-SDGs, said the UN had declared June 3 annually as the World Bicycle Day.
She said the event was its maiden edition in Nigeria, adding that it was an exclusive campaign aimed at promoting 13 out of the 17 goals of the SDGs.
Orelope-Adefulire said the target was to achieve the 13 goals through cycling and also, to encourage the culture of cycling among Nigerians.
The presidential aide pledged the commitment of the Office of the SSAP-SDGs towards promoting cycling in Nigeria to ensure the attainment of the SDGs.
Mr Femi Akunji, the Chairman, Dapper Exclusive Style Limited said the event was organised to celebrate the maiden edition of the World Bicycle Day in Nigeria.
He said that the event was to propagate the attainment of the SDGs and encourage Nigerians to imbibe the culture of cycling. (NAN)
