Abuja, May 24, 2018 (NAN) An 18-year-old  man, Mohammed Bello, accused of stealing six gallons of condemned oil was on Thursday arraigned in a Karu Magistrates’ Court.

The defendant, who resides at Nyanya Pan-taker, Abuja, was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on criminal trespass and theft, offences he denied committing.
The prosecutor, Vincent Osuji, told the court that one Umo Udoderc of Karu village, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja, on May 18 at about 11:a.m.
He said that the complainant alleged that on the same date, the defendant criminally trespassed into his block industry and dishonestly stole six gallons of condemned engine oil, value yet unknown.
He also informed the court that during police investigation, the stolen items were recovered from the defendant.

According to him, the offences are  contrary to and punishable under Sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.
The judge, Mariam Saad, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case until June 18, for hearing. (NAN)
