Union doles out 100 bags of foodstuffs to junior LG workers

Daura (Katsina State) May 24, 2018 (NAN) The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has donated 100 bags of foodstuffs to 372 junior staff of Daura Local Government, Katsina State.
Alhaji Habibu Bala, NULGE Chairman in the council, made the disclosure in Daura on Thursday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He said the items include 50 bags of millet and 50 bags of sugar, adding that the union would extend the gesture to other workers in due course.
Bala said the items were provided as gift to assist the junior staff in the ongoing Ramadan period.
Malam Amadu Umar, one of the beneficiaries, described the gesture as a welcome development.
Umar expressed the gratitude of the beneficiaries to the union and assured that they would make judicious use of the items in feeding their families.
NAN recalls that the Daura chapter of NULGE recently renovated four pit latrines and provided potable water in the council secretariat to improve staff welfare. (NAN)
