Ramadan: Lawmaker distributes commodities to constituents

Musawa (Katsina State), May 23, 2018 (NAN) Sen. Abu Ibrahim, representing APC-Katsina South, has distributed commodities worth N33.5 million to support the people of his constituency during this Ramadan.

The representative of the senator, Alhaji Bala Abubakar, who distributed the commodities, on Wednesday in Musawa, said that the gesture was meant to alleviate the people’s suffering.

He listed the commodities to include: bags of rice, sugar and millet, adding that all the 11 Local Governments in the zone would benefit from the senator’s kind gesture.

According to him, each of the Local Governments will receive 1,650 bags of millet, 100 bags of rice and sugar respectively for onward distribution to the beneficiaries.

Abubakar, who is also the APC zonal Vice Chairman, Funtua zone, called on the distribution committees to ensure fairness in the distribution of the commodities.

He said that two Imams of the Juma’at Mosques in each of the 11 Local Governments, as well as district heads would be among the beneficiaries.

Abubakar called on the people of the area to continue to pray for peace, unity and prosperity of the nation.

He also urged them to continue to support the State and Federal Governments’ policies that were aimed at improving the living conditions of all Nigerians.

Earlier, the representative of Gov. Aminu Masari on the occasion, Alhaji Shamsu Sule, urged lawmakers and wealthy individuals in the state to emulate the senator’s kind gesture, especially during Ramadan.

Sule, who is a Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, urged APC members in the zone to remain united, as activities for the 2019 general elections gathered momentum. (NAN)
