Applicant in court over alleged damage of windscreen, side mirrors

Lagos, May 18, 2018(NAN)A 46-year-old applicant, Rasaq Showunmi, who allegedly damaged two side mirrors and a windscreen of a car, valued at N105,000, was on Friday arraigned in an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court.
The accused who resides at No.1, Larunsi St., Iyana Ipaja, is being tried for conspiracy and damaging property.
The prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the offences were committed on May 11, at Ilupeju bypass, Lagos.
Ogu said that the accused who was inside a tricycle, allegedthat the complainant, Mr Adekunle Keshinro, hit the tricycle from behind.
“The accused damaged the two side mirrors and the windscreen of the complainant ‘s Toyota car, valued at N105,000.
“The accused was arrested at the scene by the police, “he said.
The offences contravened Sections 339 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr J. A. Adegun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Adegun adjourned the case until May 22 for mention. (NAN)
