Sales manager docked over alleged theft of employer ‘s money

Ikeja, May 17, 2018(NAN) A sales manager, Azeez Falolu, was on Thursday brought before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly stealing his employer’s N630, 000.
Falolu, 21, who resides at No. 10, Oluwalofe Close, Aboru in Ipaja, near Lagos, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Clifford Ogu, told the court that the accused committed the offence on May 12 at Akowonjo road in Ipaja.
Ogu said that the accused stole the money from his employer, Jamiu Shotayo’s company.
“During auditing, it was discovered that N630, 000 was missing from the company’s account, when the accused was asked, he could not give any reasonable explanation.’’
Ogu said the case was reported to the police and that the accused was arrested for further questioning.
He said that the offence contravened Section 280(a) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Mr J.A. Adegun, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case until May 22 for mention. (NAN)
