Octogenarian

Ile-Ife (Osun), May 16, 2018 (NAN) An 84-year-old man, Ebenezer Abidoye, has appeared before an Ile Ife Magistrates’ Court
in Osun for allegedly stealing a motorcycle valued at N218, 000.
Abidoye, whose address was not given, is facing a charge of stealing to which he pleaded not guilty.
The accused allegedly committed the offence on March 12 at 8.00 p.m. at Ilare area of Ile-Ife, Police Prosecutor Sunday
Osanyintuyi, told the court.
Osanyintuyi alleged that the accused stole a motorcycle with registration no. SMK 531 QI, valued at N218,000,
property of Mr Isaac Adewumi.
The offence contravened Section 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002.
The Defence Counsel, Mrs Olubunmi Salawu, urged the court to grant the accused bail on liberal terms, promising he will
not jump bail.
Magistrate Muhibah Olatunji granted the accused N200,000 bail with one surety in like sum.
Olatunji said the surety should reside within the court’s jurisdiction and also produce three years tax clearance.
She adjourned the case until June 24 for hearing. (NAN)
