Police arraign 2 men for alleged joint act, theft

Abuja, May 4, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Friday arraigned two men at a Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, for alleged joint act and theft.
The defendants- Saminu Ibrahim, 24, and Ashiru Sani, 18, who reside at Ereke junction area, Karmo, are standing trial on a two-count charge.
The prosecutor, Zannan Dalhatu, told the court that one Comfort Adebisi, of same address with the defendants, reported the matter at the Karmo Police Station on April 28.
The complainant alleged that on same date, the defendants slept in her shop and stole her grinding machine valued at N27, 000, stabiliser valued at N7, 000 and create of Pepsi drink worth N1, 600.
Dalhatu said that the offences contravened Sections 79 and 288 of the Penal Code.
The defendants denied committing the offences, while the judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, granted them bail in the sum of N20, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.
The case was adjourned until May 5, for hearing. (NAN)
