Abuja, May 3, 2018 (NAN) The Police on Thursday arraigned three factory workers, Chizoba Emmanuel, Monday Marius, and Stephen Adam, in a Karu Grade 1 Area Court ,Abuja, for allegedly stealing bread worth N540, 790.
The defendants, employees in a bread manufacturing factory, were arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, breach of trust and theft.
They, however, denied committing the said offences.
The prosecutor, Mahmud Lawal, told the court that one Atanu Paul of Karu, Abuja, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station, Abuja, on April 6 around 10.30a.m.
Lawal said that the complainant alleged that the defendants conspired and stole bread worth N540, 790, entrusted in their care.
He also informed the court that during police investigation, the defendants admitted committing the crime.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 97, 314 and 289 of the Penal Code
The judge, Hassan Ishaq, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum, and adjourned the case until May18, for hearing. (NAN)
