Village head appeals to Nasarawa Govt for infrastructure development

Gitata (Nasarawa State), April 25, 2018 (NAN) Mr Turaki Danlami Robo, the Village Head of Gitata in Nasarawa State, has appealed to the state government to provide the area with basic infrastructure to improve the standard of living of the people.
Danlami Robo made the appeal on Wednesday in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gitata in Karu Local Government area of the state.
NAN reports that the community lacks potable water and public power supply.
He said that the provision of infrastructure by the government would go a long way in improving the standard of living of the people and reduce unemployment as well as poverty.
“First and foremost, I want to commend Gov.Tanko Almakura for his giant development strides in the state which has had direct bearing on the lives of the people.
“The governor had done his best, but I want to appeal to him to provide this area with social amenities such as potable water and electricity, among others to improve on our standard of living,” the village head said.
Danlami Robo called on residents in the area and the state at large to continue to support Gov. Almakura’s administration to enable him succeed.
The Village head also urged the people in the area and Nigerians to live peacefully, irrespective of ethnic or religious differences in order to achieve speedy development in the country.
He said that the appeal become imperative considering the importance of peace to the socio-economic development of the society.
“As a traditional ruler, my role is to preach peace, unity and to advise my subjects and other Nigerians to live in peace and tolerate one another, irrespective of ethnic, religion and political affiliation.
“No nation or society can develop in an atmosphere of rancour and confusion.
“The security challenges facing some parts of the country have affected our lives and socio-economic development of the country negatively,” he said.
Danlami Rabo also advised Nigerians, especially the youths to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and not to engage in acts capable of tarnishing their image and the image of the country at large. (NAN)
