Civil Society urges Jigawa Govt. to improve access to basic education

Dutse, Nov 8, 2016 (NAN) Jigawa State Civil Society Advocacy Partner (JISCAP), a civil society organisation based in Dutse, has called on the state government to intensify efforts to improve access to quality education at basic level.

A statement jointly signed by Baffa Nayaya, the Chairman and Isa Mustapha, Secretary of the organisation, stressed the need for the government to do more to enable the citizens have quality education.

The statement was made available to newsmen on Tuesday in Dutse.

It stated that education played pivotal role in the fight against poverty and diseases, adding that government must ensure that the citizens got basic education.

The statement appealed to the incumbent administration to actualise its promise of 24 hours service at primary health care facilities across the state.

It commended Gov. Muhammad Badaru for prompt payment of salaries and for embarking on the construction of roads in the state in spite dwindling resources.

The statement advised the government to construct drainages on either sides of the road to prevent erosion and flooding.
“We appreciate the government for its laudable programmes on youths and women empowerment, cluster farming as well as on small scale industries”

“The government’s initiative to reduce cost of governance and execution of inherited projects are worthy of commendation” the statement added. (NAN)
